A leaked email from an Agriculture Department field officer adds fuel to claims President Obama's political strategy is to make the billions in recent federal budget cuts as painful as possible to win the public opinion battle against Republicans.

The email, circulated around Capitol Hill, was sent Monday by Charles Brown, a director at the agency’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service office in Raleigh, N.C. He appears to tell his regional team about a response to his recent question on the amount of latitude he has in making cuts.

According to the partially redacted email, the response came from the Agriculture Department’s budget office and in part states: “However you manage that reduction, you need to make sure you are not contradicting what we said the impact would be.”

The response noted that the administration had already told Congress that the APHIS would “eliminate assistance to producers in 24 states in managing wildlife damage to the aquaculture industry” without additional funds.

Arkansas Republican Rep. Tim Griffin said the administration’s response to Brown’s email shows a bid to undermine efforts to replace the cuts, known as sequester, with less onerous ones.

“This email confirms what many Americans have suspected: The Obama administration is doing everything they can to make sure their worst predictions come true and to maximize the pain of the sequester cuts for political gain,” Griffin said in a statement.

Griffin told Fox News on Wednesday that the bosses effectively said, “you can’t do anything that is inconsistent with the negative impact that we’ve told everybody these cuts are going to have.”
An Agriculture Department spokesman said Wednesday that Brown's suggestions had already been included in the agency's sequestration plan and in the administration's fiscal 2013 budget.

Under the 2011 deal reached by Obama and Congress, the cuts are supposed to be across the board, meaning government officials have limited flexibility in moving around money.

The administration in recent weeks has made doomsday predictions about the impact of the cuts. And the White House so far has appeared unwilling to accept a Republican offer to give the president more autonomy in making the cuts, covering $85 billion this fiscal year, to help reduce the impact on some of the most essential or hardest-hit programs or agencies.

Some political strategists say the president hopes the cuts hurt enough to compel Republican lawmakers seeking re-election next year to end them by agreeing to more tax increases.

On Sunday, Gene Sperling, the White House’s top economic adviser, suggested Republicans would indeed make this decision.  

“Our hope is, as more Republicans start to see this pain in their own districts, they will choose bipartisan compromise over this absolutist position,” he said.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, during a House hearing Tuesday, was asked by South Dakota Republican Rep. Kristi Noem about the Brown email.

Vilsack said he was unaware of the email, but denied the administration has a policy of being inflexible and maximizing the cuts’ impact.

“I wouldn’t say that we’ve said no to flexibility,” Vilsack said. “But there are certain circumstances where we don’t have flexibility.”

“I’m hopeful that isn’t an agenda that has been put forward," Noem said.

(Info Wars) -Amidst continuing controversy over the Department of Homeland Security’s purchase of large quantities of guns and ammunition, the federal agency is getting more secretive about its activity by censoring information about a no-bid contract with Remington for firearms parts.

Despite the fact that documents pertaining to government activity are only supposed to be redacted for national security reasons or if authorized by Congress, a new entry posted on the FedBizOpps website pertaining to the DHS’ plans for a $1.5 million contract with firearms manufacturer Remington contains numerous blacked-out sections.

The document is an explanation of why the DHS has entered into a contract on a basis “other than full and open competition,” in other words a no bid contract. The contract with Remington Arms Company for firearms replacement parts is set to run for five years at a cost not to exceed $1.5 million dollars.
The first censored portion of the document blacks out the precise year by year amount in dollars that the DHS plans to purchase from Remington.

The second censored section blacks out the number of Remington firearms that have been serviced and maintained by the ICE National Firearms and Tactical Training Unit (NFTTU).

The third censored section relates to how the Remington firearms are distributed at state and local levels.

The fourth censored section pertains to the government’s reluctance to purchase a “complete firearms replacement system,” instead of using Remington firearms.

This isn’t the first time the DHS has redacted information related to firearms or bullet purchases.
In August last year, the federal agency classified portions of a document to conceal references to the amount of 223 62 and 223 64 grain ammunition being purchased in another no-bid contract.

The no-bid contract was justified due to an “unusual and compelling urgency” to acquire the bullets, noting that there is a shortage of bullets which is threatening a situation which could cause “substantial safety issues for the government” should law enforcement officials not be adequately armed.

Concerns have been raised about why the DHS is buying ammunition in such large quantities – with the agency committing to purchase roughly 2 billion bullets over the course of the last year, enough to wage a near 30 year war. In September last year, the DHS also bought 7,000 fully automatic assault rifles, labeling them “personal defense weapons”.

Earlier this week, former Governor Sarah Palin raised the subject, warning that the federal government is “stockpiling bullets” in preparation for “civil unrest.”

She was attacked by a raft of leftist websites which claimed the issue had been “debunked,” although the debunking consisted of nothing more than regurgitating DHS statements which claimed the bullets were merely for target practice or that they were bought in bulk to save money.

The so-called “debunking” also failed to answer why most of the ammunition consisted of hollow point bullets, which are expensive and highly unusual to use for target practice.

Apparently, the mainstream media has failed to grasp that concerns about government activity cannot be “debunked” by merely repeating glib statements issued by government officials.

Ignoring American History

In times of trouble, I always look to those wiser and stronger then I for guidance. I look to those who, when faced with hardship, found a way to overcome.

The problems that America is facing today have been caused because those on the liberal left have forgotten their own American history. They have forgotten why this country was originally founded; to escape a land of persecution for your faith, unfair taxation without representation, and a government that chose only a select few businesses to thrive. Sound familiar?

They have forgotten August 1, 1946 in Athens TN where 300 GI’s just back from defending their country in WWII had to literally take arms to fight a corrupt political family which had taken over the local government and its elections.

They have forgotten Korea Town in 1992 during the LA Riots, when it took a full 24 hours until the National Guard arrived to help the Korean businessmen who had to use their guns to protect their stores and their families from those who were rioting in the streets.

And while they have not forgotten to blame George W. Bush, they have forgotten about the citizens who had to defend themselves in the wake of Katrina when the corrupt police force ran away from or even turned on its own residents.

Now, let me tell you what we have not forgotten.

We have not forgotten what it feels like the day our child is born and each of us parents make the silent vow too do everything we can to protect them and keep them safe.

We have not forgotten the images of those in the Sudan, Rwanda and Bosnia who were slaughtered when their government went corrupt and they had no way to protect themselves.

We have not forgotten how it all started with the initial push to make things fair and politically correct.

However, now our country has allowed the birth of Christ to be erased from public celebration, no Ten Commandments in the Courthouse, and most importantly, the eradication of a Christian God from our public schools.

For those who believe this current administration is not capable of turning on its citizens are extremely uninformed, naive, or have just consumed so much Kool-Aid they are not able to see the obvious signs that our freedoms are being eroded away slowly, but make no mstake, surely.  DEFEND THE 2ND AMENDMENT!

President Obama's Golf Trip Could Have Saved 341 Furloughed Jobs

With the sequester officially in place, and the world still perfectly intact, there is still a possibility that many federal workers could still be furloughed. Remember how Obama kept threatening that all these people would lose their jobs, airplanes wouldn’t fly, and illegal immigrants would be crossing the border without a problem?

Do you also remember how all the reporters were going crazy last week about how the President went golfing with Tiger Woods? Well as everything Obama does, it cost quite a bit in taxpayer dollars. Over $1 million to be more accurate. Many are furious that the President has the nerve to ask lawmakers to make these concessions, where he is not willing to do the same. How can he make these fear inducing claims that many people will lose their jobs, when he is out golfing with a famous womanizer, spending enough money that could have saved 341 jobs from the furlough?

Well Senator Sessions has something to say about it. In a written statement the Senator expressed his displeasure with the President’s behavior leading up to the sequester.

"While the White House operatives may think this attack is clever, it betrays an astonishing elitism: the federal government is perfect and requires no reform. That is why they have no plan to make our government leaner and more efficient. The President had 18 months to develop reforms to improve the government, but instead he announced furloughs of federal workers as a political cudgel. Yet, his golf weekend at the yacht club with Tiger Woods cost taxpayers over a million dollars—enough money to save 341 federal workers from furlough," Sessions writes.

"These workers know firsthand how much waste and inefficiency exists in the government. Our Budget Committee office will look for a way to solicit federal employees to send suggestions for how to save money in their departments, agencies, and divisions. What is better? To furlough someone or to empower them to make their office more efficient?

"Now, we learn that the President is going to submit his budget plan—which contains his recommendations to Congress, the reason the law requires it to be submitted early in February before our budget work begins—on March 25th. Yet he will be submitting it after the House and Senate have produced a budget proposal and adjourned for Easter. So while the President speaks of his deep concern for American workers and families, he fails to even submit to Congress his financial plan to help those workers and families. Why then doesn’t the President furlough his entire 500 person staff at the Office of Management and Budget instead of threatening teachers and law enforcement personnel? The budget deals with more than just deficits. It is the chief executive’s plan for American prosperity. What does it mean that he doesn’t want to lay that out? He is the CEO of the Executive Branch and every cabinet official and government employee answers to him. It is his duty to the American people to be the person advancing reform, not blocking it.

"Also at issue is the fact that our massive federal government is, right now, creating poverty and hurting families. Look at cities like Baltimore, Chicago, and Detroit. Raising taxes—instead of reforming government—denies struggling Americans the help they need. There is nothing just or virtuous about protecting a stale welfare state that is failing the people it is supposed to help. President Obama is defending the bureaucracy at the expense of the people.

"It is time for the President to end the permanent campaign and work with both parties to make this government work better."

Economist, commentator, and author John Lott asserts that the facts simply deny the arguments of gun control advocates. "You can't find a place around the world where murder rates have gone down after gun control. In fact, they have gone up," Lott explains. Lott argues that gun free zones are actually a contributing factor to gun violence. "I feel something has to be done too. You have to look at common factors that exist in all of these shootings. They keep taking place where guns are banned," he says.
