This story of massive ammo acquisition by our Government is gaining momentum

When will we wake up in this country and start taking an interest in what our government has planned for us once we take to the streets to demonstrate against loss of freedom, loss of rights, crushing debt, wealth redistribution, Obamacare's oppressive regulations, and God knows what else will be thrown at us.  Of course, most will shrug this off as paranoia.  But is it?  What explanation do you have for such a massive buildup of ammunition during a time of austerity? 

Why does Obama need 1.6 billion bullets?

Dear Mainstream Media,

Back in 2008, candidate Barack Obama went off his teleprompter and added a couple of sentences to the text of a speech about expanding the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps. Over rolling applause, the soon-to-be president of the United States said: “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

At the time, Joseph Farah of WND.com wrote a column calling on you to help shine a light on what this shocking statement really meant. In a permanent state of vapors over Obama’s candidacy, you were of no use when it came to extracting anything but press releases from Team Obama.

Nearly five years later, it hardly matters that candidate Obama’s promise to double the Peace Corps and the rest has come to naught. But the president’s unscripted determination to empower a civilian national security force is a different story. As far as you’re concerned, though, it’s also a nonstory.

This complacency or complicity has to stop. During the last 10 months, the Department of Homeland Security has purchased 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition, including millions of hollow-point bullets. The department also has purchased 7,000 fully automatic assault rifles, and it has overseen the retrofitting of more than 2,000 light tanks, which, of course, were originally designed to resist the mines and ambushes of the battlefield. Why does DHS need such offensive and defensive firepower?

Remember, DHS stands for Department of Homeland Security, and “homeland,” just to be extremely clear, means the USA. Obama must be asked against which domestic enemy he is arming nonmilitary forces. It sounds incredible, to be sure, but are we watching administration battle plans take shape against American citizens on the streets of Your Town, USA?

That’s where you in the mainstream media come in. This story has been burning up the “alternative press” of our Internet age — Drudge Report, Infowars.com, WND.com — for months, even years. As noted by Natural News, another “alternative” source, it’s only this week that the story is finally showing up in the mainstream media. Leapfrogging off a very thin Associated Press story of Feb. 15, Forbes.com contributor Ralph Benko made quite a splash (664,581 views) this week with a more substantive piece acknowledging these same menacing stockpiles and calling for a “national conversation.”

We the People seem ready for such a conversation — just think of all those story views. (By contrast, the next most popular Forbes.com story garnered 87,384 views.) You, the media, need to make sure the administration doesn’t get away with stonewalling.

That’s what we get now, if we get anything. Government spokesmen, when they’re not trying to make 1.6 billion bullets sound like a frugal, Costco-style bulk purchase, will tell you it’s all about target practice. Really? I hear that U.S. Army newbies soon to deploy to Afghanistan are training with blank cartridges. Why the priority for arming domestic forces, not military ones?

Even the liberal-minded “debunking” site Snopes.com confirms that the Social Security Administration has procured 174,000 hollow-point bullets for 300 special agents. Meanwhile, the National Marine Fisheries Service, which is tasked with “protecting fish stocks from depletion,” has procured 46,000 hollow-point bullets. Spokesman Scott Smullen explained, straight-faced, I am guessing, that 63 fisheries service “enforcement agents” will be using the so-called cop-killer bullets for “target qualifications.”

And that’s nothing. Last month, Paul Joseph Watson of Infowars.com reported that DHS purchased 21.6 million more rounds of ammunition, including 10 million hollow-point bullets. The latter, of course, are prohibited by the rules of war.

Commentators who have done the math tell us the feds’ ammo dump includes enough bullets to fight the war in Iraq for 27 years, or enough bullets to shoot every American citizen five times over.

Ridiculous? Conspiracy theory? Sorry to pop that bubble of well-being, but we have only blind faith to convince us that any of this is ridiculous, even that any of this is a conspiracy. The evidence, so far, is in the ammo. The whoppers and the stonewalling come from the government. You, the mainstream media, can restore balance with attention and exposure.

You might start with Watson’s coverage last month for Infowars.com of Law Enforcement Targets Inc. (LET), a Minnesota-based manufacturer that has received $2 million in unspecified contracts from DHS in the last three years. Recently, Watson writes, the company began selling cardboard cutout targets designed to “desensitize police” to “nontraditional threat targets,” as the online catalog called them. These targets included very pregnant women, children and other civilians in home, playground or other neighborhood settings. All hold guns. Public outrage over Watson’s online reports was such that LET apologized on Facebook for the company’s “No More Hesitation products” and removed them from its website.

In its apology, LET insisted these heinous civilian targets weren’t the company’s idea. “This product line was originally requested and designed by the law enforcement community …”.

I asked a friend with a long career in state and local law enforcement if he’d ever seen the like. He replied: “No. Hell, no. The targets I was trained to fire upon depicted people who really looked like armed criminals. No pregnant women. No kids. No old people. … I could have shot three armed men during my career and been justified. Right or wrong, I didn’t shoot them. These no-hesitation targets are disgusting.”

What branch of law enforcement requested and designed them? DHS? Fisheries? Social Security? Who exactly is planning for the kind of action that requires all those bullets? Is the government, as some suggest, depleting ammunition stocks as a means of gun control? Then why light tanks, too? We don’t know the answers to any of these questions.

That’s where you come in. Start asking around. It’s been awhile, I know, but you could actually do some good for a change. Maybe even boost your circulation.

“University of Maine recipe for healthy lobster salad — I pointed that out to the president in keeping with the first lady’s initiatives and Fox Family Potato Chips made in Aroostook County where I’m from and wild blueberry pie full of anti-oxidants, see this was a healthy lunch as well. We did have a little ice cream on the pie too, also made in Maine, Gifford’s Ice Cream. So in all seriousness this was well received,” Collins told reporters on Thursday after the meeting at the Capitol.

“Unfortunately, you know, the president can’t,” said Collins when asked if Obama ate at the lunch meeting.

“He looked longingly at it,” Collins continued. “He honestly did look longingly at it, but apparently he has to have essentially a taster, and I pointed out to him that we were all tasters for him, that if the food had been poisoned all of us would have keeled over so, but he did look longingly at it and he remarked that we have far better food than the Democrats do, and I said that was because I was hosting.”

Actually, there is often an element of paranoid ideation accompanying those who have Narcissistic Personality Disorder, as does the President. Thin skinned, grandiose, sense of entitlement and superiority, attention seeking, lack of empathy for others, and a touch of paranoia are all part of the personality. Charles Krauthammer, a Harvard-trained psychiatrist, has perhaps decribed Obama's personality flaws the best. This is indeed a personality that lends itself to authoritarian leadership.

Nothing is more dangerous to a free society than when the "free press", which our founding fathers envsioned as a bastion of protection against a government run amuck, is in lock-step with the administration as it is with Obama's reign of terror against liberty and freedom.  Such are the times we live in today.

One Man’s Terrorist is the Mainstream Media’s Gun Owner

Last week, the Los Angeles Times assured its readers that “cells of angry men in the United States” are “preparing for combat with the U.S. government. They are usually heavily armed, blinded by an intractable hatred, often motivated by religious zeal.” The lead editorial for March 8 goes on to inform citizens of the City of Angels that “right-wing Americans, nearly all with an obsessive attachment to guns … represent a greater danger to the lives of American civilians than international terrorists.”

The Obama Administration’s push for stricter gun laws, says the Times, will likely lead to trouble. What kind of trouble? “There’s no knowing,” said the Times, “but some kind of serious attack is increasingly possible.”

That same day, Huffington Post blogger Bob Burnett wrote, “Multiple excuses have been offered for the difficulty of enacting gun control legislation, but the most obvious problem has not been mentioned: the U.S. contains millions of Republican anarchists. These ultra-conservatives fear the government and buy guns for protection. Their Tea Party Congressmen will do everything they can to block common-sense legislation … [ultra conservatives] believe that Democracy gives them the liberty to seek their own self-interests by exercising personal responsibility, without having responsibility for anyone else or anyone else having responsibility for them,” lamented Burnett.

And with that, Burnett gets to the crux of the matter: free thinkers, God-fearing gun-owners or not, aren’t keen to allow “anyone else to have responsibility for them” … especially when that loving “responsibility” is forced upon them against their will.

The rejected advances of the creepy authoritarian stalker usually end in force. Psychologists tell us the goal of demented rapists is not sex but power over their victims. And the excuse often heard from the self-satisfied rapist is, “She was asking for it.”

That, in a nutshell, is what the opinion-shapers of the mainstream media tell the American people. “Freedom-loving Americans are asking for it.”

“These groups should be closely monitored,” concluded the Los Angeles Times editorial, “with resources adequate to the task, even if it means shifting some homeland security money from the hunt for foreign terrorists.”

The Times needn’t worry. The well-reported ammunition purchases by the Department of Homeland Security are enough to have them fanning their gun hammers for quite some time. One estimate says DHS has procured enough ammunition to power an Iraq-style ground war for at least twenty years. And news reports tell of DHS urban warfare exercises taking place in cities across the United States.

The mainstream media’s coupling of al-Qaeda terrorists with law-abiding gun-owners is enough to give one the uneasy feeling that there is a greater purpose behind the anti-gun hysteria: preemptive war. The purpose of which is to defeat an enemy’s offensive or invasion before it occurs, giving the preemptor the strategic advantage.

Dissent in the face of Progressivism’s creeping totalitarianism is defined as terrorism. The Obama-adoring media that once excused PLO atrocities, saying, “One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter,” has abandoned the moral equivalence of the past for a new absolutism: if you don’t conform with the Administration’s anti-Second Amendment initiatives, you are a terrorist.

And you know what President Obama does to terrorists? Just ask Osama bin Laden.

Expert: Obamacare set to 'implode'

Americans 'aren't going to comply with paperwork. They're just going to walk'

The House Republican budget plan assumes the repeal of Obamacare, and while the political votes may be hard to find, a leading health-care expert told WND the flaws of the system will likely lead to its implosion in the near term.

Grace-Marie Turner is president of the Galen Institute and one of the leading policy-based critics of Obamacare.

She said House Republicans are right to keep pushing for the repeal of Obamacare because of the myriad ways it afflicts the nation’s fiscal health.

“When you look at the overall impact of this law on the economy, we know that it’s hugely important in depressing job creation,” she said. “It’s forcing companies to put people on part-time when they need full-time workers. The incredible number of new taxes, a trillion dollars in new taxes in this law just in its own right. It is one of the major factors that is depressing economic growth. When you have economic growth depressed, you don’t have the tax revenue that you need.”

Turner applauded House Republicans for pushing the case for repeal and Senate Republicans for trying to defund Obamacare in the upcoming continuing resolution, even though the effort fell short. Any repeal effort that survived Congress would face a sure veto from President Obama, but Turner said the American people are determined to defeat Obamacare, including a decent percentage of voters who backed Obama for other reasons.

“Somehow or another this is going to shake out,” she said. “All of the predictable routes to getting rid of Obamacare seem to have been closed, except the American people don’t like this law. Some of them hate it. They’re going to figure out a way to not lose our freedom, to have it not ruin our economy.”

Turner is still optimistic that state rejection of Obamacare will help bring about its demise. She noted that only 17 states have agreed to the exchanges, and some state legislatures may overrule their own governors on expansion of Medicaid. Turner also noted that even liberal states like California and Connecticut are pleading with the federal government to stop the stream of new regulations that may well prevent exchanges from opening on time in those states.

The bureaucracy is not only impacting state governments, but individuals as well. Americans used to a couple of pages worth of paperwork to enroll in a health plan are now forced to fill out dozens of pages to comply with the government requirements to join the exchanges. Turner said the amount of federal prying could turn off many people from the program.

“The law is very specific about what information the government has to have to find out whether or not you’re eligible for the subsidies in these exchanges,” she explained. “They have to know your income, your family size, where you work, the tax identification number of your employer, the technical name of the plan that your employer offers that would qualify as a qualifying Obamacare health plan. People need help with this. California alone believes it needs 20,000 people just to help people fill out the form. The one I’ve seen is 21 pages. It looks like a tax form.”

“I think that’s one of the reasons that people say, ‘I’m not doing this. They have to sell me insurance if I get sick at the same price as if I’d been having health insurance all along. I’m just going to pay the fine too.’ We’re seeing employers saying, ‘We’re going to pay the fine, not comply.’

“I think the next wave is individuals doing the same thing, both because they see the high cost of the coverage in these exchanges, which is going to be much more expensive than the coverage that they’ve had.

Young people are going to be hit the hardest because they’re forced to pay more so that older people can pay less. They’re not going to comply with all this paperwork. They’re just going to walk, and that means that these exchanges are just not going to work.”

Vindication! Finally, the Lame Stream Media is covering the astronmical buildup of arms and ammunition by our Leftist Government!

Government ammunition stockpiling story breaks through media censorship

(Info Wars) – In yet another stunning victory for the alternative media the story of the U.S. government stockpiling huge quantities of ammunition (1.6 billion rounds and counting) has finally broken through media censorship and gone mainstream.

Forbes.com contributor Ralph Benko recently wrote a piece calling for a “national conversation” on why the U.S. federal government would need to stockpile enough ammunition to wage a 20-year domestic war against the American people.

Remember, until this piece was published, the entire leftist media (NPR, MSNBC, CNN and countless leftist websites) all pretended these 1.6 billion bullets were imaginary and didn’t exist. It was all a grand “conspiracy theory,” we were told, and anyone who reported the truth on the government’s ammo purchases was labeled a fringe lunatic.

As it turned out, the leftist media was delusional, because the numbers don’t lie: The Department of Homeland Security really has purchased over 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition, thousands of full-auto assault rifles, and thousands of armored assault vehicles — all for use inside the United States, on the streets of America.

Why is the federal government arming up domestically?

The hardware build-up has been called a “domestic arms race,” and it’s starting to make even mainstream media journalists nervous. Benko writes that the 1.6 billion rounds of ammo being purchased by DHS represents “…a stockpile that would last DHS over a century. To claim that it’s to “get a low price” for a ridiculously wasteful amount is an argument that could only fool a career civil servant.”

He also points out that this huge arms race of weapons, ammo and armored vehicles by the federal government is taking place right in the middle of the claimed “sequester” which the government claims has sharply curtailed its ability to spend money. So while Janet Napolitano threatens to release criminals onto the streets of America, behind the scenes the government is actually building up an ammo stockpile so huge that it could wage a 20-year war against the American people.

World Net Daily has also covered the story, saying, “the federal government’s extraordinary buildup of ammunition looks even more ominous than critics already have portrayed it.”

In 1997, WND exposed the fact that 60,000 federal agents were enforcing more than 3,000 criminal laws.

In 1999, Joseph Farah warned there were more than 80,000 armed federal law enforcement agents, constituting “the virtual standing army over which the founding fathers had nightmares.” Today, that number has nearly doubled.

In 2008, WND reported on proposed rules to expand the military’s use inside U.S. borders to prevent “environmental damage” or respond to “special events” and to establish policies for “military support for civilian law enforcement.”

It’s time that government-worshipping leftists stopped behaving as if they were delusional children in a make-believe fairy land and started facing reality. It’s time we all asked the question loudly and repeatedly:

Why is the federal government arming up against the American people? Who gave the order and what is the purpose of it all?

And at what point do Alex Jones, Sarah Palin, Joseph Farah and others get their long-deserved apology for accurately and courageously warning the public about all this, even in the face of being labeled lunatics for telling the truth?

Finally, what has become of journalism in America when people who ask real questions are attacked and marginalized while those who parrot government lies are looked upon as “authoritative” sources?

Transparency? The Obama WH? Yea, right!

 File this under the "Gee, really?".  An article that is truly a lesson in the obvious.  But since our lying POTUS is constantly claiming that his administration is the "most transparent in history", it certainly needs to be highlighted every once in awhile.  I also included a very well-articulated post to the article at the bottom.

One thing Obama could do to limit the amount of lies that his administration gets caught up in is to perhaps just talk to Jay Carney on occasion just so they can get their lies straight.  Count how many times those two buffoons contradict one another on a story and then Carney is forced to perform a tap dance when he's called on it.  I wonder how that parrot sleeps at night?  Does he have children?  God, I hope not.  That is one lineage I hope comes to an abrupt end. 

Obama administration fails watchdog’s transparency test

The Obama administration has come up short on one government watchdog’s test for transparency.

Cause of Action, a self-described government accountability organization, released a report examining federal agencies’ compliance with Freedom of Information Act requests, Wednesday.

As the group notes in their “Grading the Government” report, during his first month in office, President Obama laid out his goal to the heads of executive branch agencies to make his “the most transparent Administration in history.”

 

With Obama’s mission in mind the group set out to test the administration’s transparency — grading each agency on their responses to identical FIOAs — regarding spending on promotional items. The departments were graded on the amount of time it took to respond, the number of redactions in the responses and whether or not they granted the group a Public-Interest Purpose fee waiver.

The report found the average agency grade to be a “C-minus.”

According to Cause of Action, the Department of Commerce and the Department of Defense were among the worst FIOA responders, with each department receiving an “F” based on their grading system.

The Department of Education came out with with the lone “A.”

“What ‘Grading the Government’ shows is an inconsistency at best, and a failure at worst, by federal agencies in not just compliance with the President’s pledge for transparency, but compliance with basic FOIA protocol,” said Dan Epstein, Cause of Action executive director in a statement.

“Failure by these agencies to disclose documents is a failure in their service to the American taxpayers who fund them and rely on them to be accountable and transparent,” he added.

The 14 other agencies came out somewhere in the middle: The Department of Agriculture received a “C,” he Department of Energy got a “C-minus,” the Department of Health and Human Services received a “D,” the Department of Homeland Security got a “D-minus,” the Department of Housing and Urban Development received a “D-minus,” the Department of the Interior received a “B,” the Department of Justice got a “D,” the Labor Department got a “C-minus,” Department of State received a “C,” Department of Transportation got a “D,” the Department of the Treasury got a “D-minus,” the Department of Veterans Affairs received a “B-minus,” and the Environmental Protection Agency got a “B.”

As the organization notes, the report is not exhaustive as it only probed 16 departments however it contends that the research serves to confirm an earlier report offered by Bloomberg News.

“This report does not give a comprehensive picture of how the Federal Government handled its FOIA responsibilities in 2012 because it only examines performance on one request sent to 16 departments. It is a continuation of an earlier report by Bloomberg News, which found that 19 of 57 agencies failed to provide responses within the six-month timeframe,” the report reads. “Our findings largely confirm the Bloomberg report; we calculated a non-response rate of 25 percent (only slightly less than the 33 percent found by Bloomberg).”

Cause of Action noted that they have plans to continue to probe the openness of this administration.

I see Obama as very transparent. Every true conservative and I have been able to see right through him since the early days of the primary back in 2008.

Aggressive pursuit of power disguised as compassion for the common man. A determination to kill the Second Amendment to take the teeth out of the citizenry but claiming this is necessary to take bite out of crime.


Again, Obama is very transparent. If you can't see through him then you are either apathetic, a leftist, or just dangerously naive.
