Coming from anyone else, I'd say this was simply hyperbole. Coming from Dr. Ron Paul, I say we are in very big trouble. Maybe this is what it will take to swing the country back to a conservative path. Just too many "takers" put on the government entitlement programs by Obama to change the course as it stands now.

Retiring Congressman Ron Paul told Bloomberg TV Thursday that America has already fallen off the fiscal cliff and blames government benefits for President Barack Obama’s re-election.
Paul told Bloomberg TV that in a pure democracy, “the majority dictates against the minority. So right now, the majority are receiving a check,” and those receiving government benefits do not want them to stop coming.
“You can’t have a budgetary solution if you don’t change what the role of government should be,” Paul said.
When asked about the impending fiscal cliff, the congressman said that we have already fallen off and the future does not look any better.
“We’re so far-gone. We’re over the cliff,” Paul said.
“We cannot get enough people in Congress in the next five to 10 years who will do the wise things.”
“People want the truth,” Paul said. “The truth is we’re broke.”
