I think the general consensus is that VP debates don't really move the needle one way or the other. Except perhaps when you have the theatrics that we had last night. Very similar to Al Gore's sighing during his debate with George W. Bush is 2000. I could go on, but I think a picture - or in this case four pictures - really sums up the debate last night.
Far brighter folks than I are covering the debate today and I suggest you do your research and due diligence if you are an undecided voter or if you are a Democrat with an open mind. But the one question I would pose to anyone who is engaged in the voting process is this: Is this the man you want a heartbeat away from the Presidency of the United States? If these gestures were in response to a bawdy joke at the local tappy, no problem...but these are the facial contortions of the Vice President of the United States during a debate about the most serious of issues facing our country.
Mr. Biden even felt compelled to smirk and chuckle when the discussion centered around the senseless, preventable death of Ambassador Stevens and three other brave heroes. And then, to cap off his very quirky contortions, he blatantly lied about the administration not being aware that the embassy in Benghazi had repeatedly asked for increased security.
This was all uncovered leaving no more uncertainly yesterday during the congressional hearings on the hill when four - yes, four - intelligence officials swore under oath that they submitted numerous requests for more help to protect the embassy.
Biden was rude, condescending, buffoonish even. In contrast, Congressman Ryan was collected, restrained and respectful.
